How to choose Gemstones ?

Course in Gemology
Course objectives
Assist the participant in learning and understanding the selection criteria for gemstones: colors, treatments, quality of sizes, quality vs price, key producing countries.
Inform the participant on care or special attention to the maintenance and preservation of stones and jewels.
Methodology
Presentation discussion from texts provided and photographic plates.
Observation with a magnifying glass of stones in different varieties and qualities, grouped according to the subjects.
Presentation with slides.
Demonstration with instruments of gemology depending on the subject.
Presentation of a video summary at the end of each course.
Course content
- Diamonds and imitation diamonds
- Red and pink gemstones (ruby, spinel, tourmaline, garnet, etc.)
- Blue gemstones (sapphire, turquoise, lapis lazuli, amethyst, tanzanite, etc.)
- Green and yellow gemstones (emerald, malachite, topaz, quartz, topaz, etc.)
- Pearls (fresh or salt water cultured)
